Are you on a diet, one of the weight watchers? It might be time to put those artificial sweetners away. They are just as bad as ordinary sugar if you are watching your weight. Research suggests that our bodies are unable to distinguis between the low calorie and sugar free sweeteners from normal sugar. They do nothing to help weight loss and could actually make people put on more weight.
Artificial sweeteners behave in a similar way to sugar, by activating sensors which are key to the absorption of glucose. As a result, your body processes extra sugar and all the calories in it. This means little or no weight loss to the dieter.

A researh team from Liverpool University studied how glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream and found calorie free substitutes behave in a similar way to normal sugar. They recommended, weight watchers should eat less of both.
Researcher Soraya Shirazi-Beechey said:
“If someone wants to lose weight, I don’t think artificial sweeteners are going
to help.
“My recomendation is to eat natural foods, but to eat less of
them.”
Professor Shirazi-Beechey also said:
“Artificial sweeteners can also activate the glucode sensors and increase the
capacity of the intestine to absorb more sugar.
“You drink diet cola to stay
slim but the reverse is true, because the artificial sweetners can activate the
sensor, so you are taking more glucose from your diet.”

A research from the University of Copenhagen has suggested that dark chocolate is more filling than milk version and can reduce your cravings for sweet foods.
Dark chocolate contains phenylethylamine, theobromine, anandamide and tryptophan which researchers say, causes mood-enhancing chemicals and neurotransmitters to be released in the brain. Researchers also believe that phenylethylamine causes the brain to release dopamine in it’s pleasure centres, which peaks during an orgasm. But, for all it’s healthy qualities you have to remember to take it in small quantities.

Lose weight by sleeping more. Doctors claim that ‘short sleepers’ are fatter than ‘long sleepers’.
Tests found that suffering sleepless nights can reduce levels of appetite suppressing hormone Leptin, causing you to eat more.
Stress may also reduce the length and quality of sleep and increasing eating and other habits which can make you add more weight.
So, if you want to lose make sure you have enough sleep. Eight hours will be a good enough hours to sleep. Don’t forget you still need to do your exercises and control what you eat.

Losing weight may not be that easy for some, in my first two months at the Gym I have actually managed to lose more weight than what I expected. But it has not been easy, you have to be prepared to sacrifice some things you enjoy or like. Not everything you enjoy is good enough for a healthy lifestyle. Knowing the right type of food to eat and the right portion sizes is very important. This will save you time spent counting calories.
Burning excess fat, calories and reducing your intake of those not so health food stuffs is the key to a healthy lifestyle.
I have seem people who seem to be obsessed with counting the number of calories in everything they it. Then add them up to get how much they can eat in a day, personally I think there is no need for that. Throw away the calculator, all you need is to eat the right food and in the correct portion sizes.
The key is knowing the right type, the right quality and quantity of food with nutrients needed to create the best body you have always wanted.
a balanced diet of quality Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats is the key. It’s important for your meals to contain a portion of quality carbohydrates, proteins and fat. This provides your body with essential nutrients to rebuild muscle and generate energy.
I’m always interested in what you have to say. Feel free to share your views by posting your comments.

Scientists have blamed the rising number of fat people for global warming. But I think this is not fair on fat people. The World Health Organisation estimates that producing the food eaten by each fat person emits a tonne more carbon dioxide a year than for thin people. They also added that overweight people are also more likely to drive which contributes to environmental damage.
But do fat people cause global warning more than thin people?
Dr. Phil Edwards, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said: “Moving about in a heavy body is like driving in a gas guzzler.”
Fat people should lose weight for the sake of their health, not this global warming stuff that scientists want to blame on them. Are our scientists running out of ideas or explanations regarding this global warming problem?
Lets not blame our fatties just for the sake of it. But on the other hand, I would encourage our fat friends to eat healthy and exercise for the sake of their health.
