Is it recession or businesses are becoming even more greedy? Have you noticed how aggressively they try to milk every little penny that you have in the pocket?
During the festive season, businesses were trying every trick possible to get us to spend our hard earned cash on all those not so healthy foods. Chocolates, mince pies, beer, cakes and loads of other goodies. Business people were cashing in on this too commercialised Christmas period.
Now as we begin the new year, the business man is back again telling us how much weight we have put on due to our over indulgence during the festive period. They are even promoting weight scales so you can weigh yourself and feel guilty about your ‘not so good looking’ body. That’s true, they have even come up with their own idea of a good looking body.
Celebrities are cashing in on their so called ‘celebrity diets’, I can’t live on apples and water sory. If you are one of those caught up in this crazy situation of yo-yo weights good lucky in whatever you are doing to lose weight. Just be careful you might end up losing more money.
For me the solution is to live healthy throughout the year, eat healthy food and exercise regulary. Businesses are there to make money, don’t buy everything because you think it’s cheap. Ask yourself if you really need it.
Happy New Year to you all.

I wished I had no teeth at all as I prayed for all this awful pain to stop, and my life to get back to normal again. But the pain will not go away.
I visited the dentist on Tuesday after experiencing dental pain for the first time in my 34 years of life. From that day I have been in serious serious pain, nothing can compare to that sort of pain. Maybe a kick in the balls…but I have never been kicked so I don’t know what it’s like.
I expected the dentist to take out the problem tooth, but apparently the procedure means he had to do preliminary examination and I had to go back home in pain. And the tooth extraction was for another day.
Well, I was referred to a specialist because my painful tooth require surgical extraction under sedation….whatever that is. And for that I have to wait until this coming Tuesday, until then this unforgettable experience continues.
DIY Tooth Extraction did cross my mind, but that will be crazy, stupid and suicidal. I quickly came back to my senses.
Go For Dental Check-Up
I know if I have been going for my regular dental check-ups I could have prevented all this suffering. Which is why I would want to encourage you to have your regular dental check-ups if you have not been. Because when the pain comes, you will regret it.
But what annoys me is the waiting time to get a dental appointment. This is First World Britain and the National Health Services (NHS) should have better standards than this, why should it take this long?
It takes more than just oral dental hygiene. Do you regularly go for dental checks?
I encourage you to have your dental checks before trouble comes.

Are you on a diet, one of the weight watchers? It might be time to put those artificial sweetners away. They are just as bad as ordinary sugar if you are watching your weight. Research suggests that our bodies are unable to distinguis between the low calorie and sugar free sweeteners from normal sugar. They do nothing to help weight loss and could actually make people put on more weight.
Artificial sweeteners behave in a similar way to sugar, by activating sensors which are key to the absorption of glucose. As a result, your body processes extra sugar and all the calories in it. This means little or no weight loss to the dieter.

A researh team from Liverpool University studied how glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream and found calorie free substitutes behave in a similar way to normal sugar. They recommended, weight watchers should eat less of both.
Researcher Soraya Shirazi-Beechey said:
“If someone wants to lose weight, I don’t think artificial sweeteners are going
to help.
“My recomendation is to eat natural foods, but to eat less of
them.”
Professor Shirazi-Beechey also said:
“Artificial sweeteners can also activate the glucode sensors and increase the
capacity of the intestine to absorb more sugar.
“You drink diet cola to stay
slim but the reverse is true, because the artificial sweetners can activate the
sensor, so you are taking more glucose from your diet.”

Smart Weight Loss Management
From the 1st of March when I started following a strict weight management lifestyle, I have gone from a fatty and heavyweight 17 stone (108 killograms) to what I believe is a healthy 14 stone (about 88 killograms) now. All this was achieved through hard and smart work at the gym and being selective and very careful about what I eat.
I have never felt this good for years!
In the beginning, the Treadmill was my best friend at the gym. I was not good at running then, but now I’m very good at it. I would do circuit training with light weights and less resting time between sets. And I remember in my first month I managed to reduce my body weight by a massive 6 killograms.
My Gym Plan – These days my gym plan has changed, my focus is now more on training with heavy weights to build more body strength and muscle, compared to the early days when my focus was more on burning body fat. That’s why I was doing more of running in the early days.

Healthy Diet – As for my diet, a lot of things have changed. No more junk food, but sometimes I spoil myself with some things I really really like but only once in a week.
But there is NO more ‘binge drinking’ as I think this was one of the main cause of all those fatty bits on my body (some call them love handles). No more Big Mac (sorry McDonalds) with extra packet of fries and ice cream, no more coke and other fizzy drinks. Green tea and plenty of water is what I drink regularly now.
Portion Sizes – I also had to reduce the portion sizes of my meals. This is one of the most important things if you are to achieve your weight loss goals. The trick is eating about five to six small meals in a day. If you know the right food to eat, then you will not have problems in managing your diet.
Love Yourself – So, are you following any weight management programme? How are you getting on? Feel free to share your views and advise. And remember love yourself and follow what works for your.

A research from the University of Copenhagen has suggested that dark chocolate is more filling than milk version and can reduce your cravings for sweet foods.
Dark chocolate contains phenylethylamine, theobromine, anandamide and tryptophan which researchers say, causes mood-enhancing chemicals and neurotransmitters to be released in the brain. Researchers also believe that phenylethylamine causes the brain to release dopamine in it’s pleasure centres, which peaks during an orgasm. But, for all it’s healthy qualities you have to remember to take it in small quantities.

Well, it happened to a Chinese worker Mr Wang Zhaoqing. It took him two months to get home after being fired from his job.
Poor Mr Zhaoqing did not have enough money for a train ticket for the 1500km journey to his home in Guiyang, Guizhou province. The poor guy had to walk all the way, but he went the wrong way only to be found by the police sleeping under a bush. Lucky for him the police gave him a ride home.

Proud to be African….Had a lovely Africa day, London weather was hot for a change. Barbecue of Fish, Chicken, Beef and a few beers to go with it…lovely. But what a difference a day can make.
Today it’s back to work again in rainy and windy London…..a very big change from weekend weather.
And another thing, social networks, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger they are taking over our lives. We are addicted and can not stop updating. Time to log out???
I think it’s a good idea to take a break, switch off all those gadgets that affect our relaxing time.
So what were you up to this bank holiday and Africa Day holiday? Hope you had loads of fun!!!!
