Books That Change Lives – Currently Reading Enchantment By Guy Kawasaki

When a friend of my told me about the book he was reading, Get The Job You Really Want by James Cann, I ended up getting one of the most inspirational books I ever read “Enchantment” by Guy Kawasaki.

Because I also want To Get The Job I Really Want, I had to quickly go to the University bookshop to get this book. But for some reason they had decided to hide the book I wanted in a corner shelf. But again the good thing is whilst I was searching for it I came across Guy Kawasaki’s book. This is a book I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys reading books that change lives or better still, how to make people believe in what you are doing.

However I still managed to buy Get The Job You Really Want by James Caan, now if you are serious about what job you want to get and you really want to get it, I would advise you get this book because it’s full of useful advise. The kind of advise that will help you sell yourself and get a job.

I got these books at the University book shop but you can also find them in any good book shop or on the internet from Amazon.co.uk

Facebook has reportedly admitted hiring a PR firm Burson-Marsteller to spread negative articles about Google in the American Press. So much for competition to dominate the Internet! It seems Facebook was so much concerned about how its rival Google was violating people’s privacy because of how its using their information, some of it taken from Facebook profiles.

Facebook have embarrassed themselves by admitting to hiring ‘spin doctors’ to spread lies about it’s rival.

But can these companies be trusted with the way they collect and use people’s personal data? There is so much going on, these companies and their owners only care about the millions goings into their pockets.

Incapacity Benefits for Obesity and Drug Addicts – maybe the government should subsidise my gym membership. One of the top news stories today has been the 80 000 plus people in the UK who are said to be on Incapacity Benefits for Obesity and Drug Addictions. So, why should the taxpayer suffer because of someones’ addictions or high appetite for junk food?

Is it not out of choice to abuse drugs and binge on junk food then these people become addicts to their bad habits?

Is it very difficult to chose to live a healthy life?

A healthy lifestyle is the answer to these problems, so I guess the government should do more to encourage healthy living rather than giving these people incapacity benefits.

Facebook New Messaging – the new Facebook messaging system, where chats are combined with Inbox messages is probably the most annoying change that Facebook has done to the social networking website. A quick search on Google will give you 216,000,000 results referencing how to switch back to the old Facebook messaging system.

Facebook never listens to user’s complaints? An example of another Brand which doesn’t care about the people who are the life blood of their business.

To make matter worse these changes are forced upon you and no choice of going back. Why would you want your charts and emails combined together?

Is this a ploy to force people to join their their new @facebook.com email address?

What’s new KOGY? Well, the last week has been an eventful one. Starting with my elder son’s birthday then my special woman’s birthday over the weekend. Now I look forward to Easter Break but this time I will stay away from chocolates, no good for my health.

This time around in the UK its Spring with Summer flavour to it, the weather has been quite warm for this time of the year. I’m loving it and there are few grumpy faces thanks to the nice weather.

My missus is planning to refresh the place with fresh new furniture designs. I’m looking forward to the pressure in the coming last few weeks of the semester. Plus the long Summer Break, it promises to be a hot one this year!

GoDaddy and the Short Elephant – Media Blunder or PR Stunt

Bob Parsons and the shot Elephant - after the much criticized Elephant shooting incident in Zimbabwe in which the founder of GoDaddy Bob Parsons posted a video of himself killing an Elephant, there were reports of GoDaddys competitors capitalizing on the bad GoDaddy publicity. But how bad was this publicity on GoDaddy’s business? It will be interesting to see these stats.

On the other hand it could be a possibility that the ‘Elephant killing’ incident was a PR Stunt. After all there has been a few of these controversial issues placed in the media as PR stunts. One case which comes to mind is the UK Celebrity Big Brother racism incident.

However these media blunders have the potential of destroying a Brands’ Image which will not be easy to rebuild especially for small business.

In the current climate of massive Social Media Marketing influence on business performance it has become even more important to manage social media accounts in a way which promotes a positive brand image. It will be very difficulty for a small business to recover from bad publicity like Bob Parsons’ Elephant shooting incident.
