Chromebooks a new kind of Computer from Google

A few days ago at Google I/O 2011 the Internet giant unveiled what it calls the new kind of computer, Chromebooks powered by its Chrome web browser. Google says Chromebooks are faster and more secure, well, we all want secure and faster computers. So how is the Chromebook going to be different from what we already have on the market?

Google’s Chromebook promise:

Chromebook is faster to boot, only takes 8 seconds.
No need to carry charger, battery will lasts you whole day.
No need to buy antivirus, Chromebooks have multi layers of security built in.
WiFi and optional 3G

Google has just announced that Acer and Samsung Chromebooks are coming soon and you can order yours from June 15. Google say the Chromebooks will be faster and more secure and they are made for the Internet were we seem to be spending most of our time. It will be interesting to find out how these Chromebooks compare with other Netbooks already on the market.

One thing that stands out on the Chromebooks is the 8 seconds Boot time!
