Using Seasonal Marketing to Increase Affiliate Earnings

Do you use Seasonal Marketing in your online business? Analysing seasonal trends will give you an idea of which products to promote in different months of the year and increase you affiliate earnings. After all there is no point promoting a product that no one will buy.

Consumer spending online increase during the different seasonal holidays throughout the year, you should analyse the trends in your target market and provide your customers with the products they are ready to spend money on.

There is no doubt the month of December has the highest consumer online spending worldwide, but there are other seasonal holidays in different countries.

September is a good month for Back to School promotions. In October online shoppers will be ready to spend money on Halloween Costumes. November is time to prepare for the Christmas promotions which leads to increased online spending in the month of December.

Life as a student comes with a whole lot of Free things and also discounted products and services that students require as part of their learning or in day to day life. On my first day at University, I got a copy of Kaspersky Internet Security for free.

Microsoft has come up with another sweet deal for students. For a limited time, Microsoft is offering eligible college students Windows 7 for only $29.99 way cheaper than what it’s going to cost other people ($119.99) on it’s release on October 22 . This offer is available until 3 January 2010.

Windows 7 promotion is being offered through a site called Win741.com.

Microsoft DreamSpark - is also another special site from Microsoft that gives out free software to students who have a valid email address from colleges that qualify under the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA).

Do you use Twitter as a Sales Tool or Social Networking Tool?

To me Twitter is a social media, where you get to ‘meet’ like minded people and build personal and mutually beneficial relationships. However Twitter can also be a great sales tool, judging from the articles I have read in different newspapers. Some business have seen increases in their sales through using Twitter. I have read articles which argue that Twitter should be used solely as a social networking site.

Businesses are using Twitter to broadcast their sales and marketing messages and some have seen growth in their sales figures. For example, Dell the computer company recently reported an increase in sales through using Twitter. And I’m sure there are many other businesses which have seen an increase sales.

But, should Twitter be used as a business tool? Or people should just stick to what Twitter is? A social Networking website? Use Twitter to build personal relationships.

However when you are in business, it’s all about profit….who can ignore such an opportunity to get more exposure and free advertising for your business? How can you ignore such an opportunity to make more sales?

I believe Twitter was going to be a very good purely social networking site, for those who want to follow what other people are doing. But business people saw the opportunity to make money. You got to be able to spot such opportunities if you are to succeed in business.

Google attacked over gambling Ads

Church leaders and MPs have attacked Google for allowing gambling firms to advertise on it’s website for the first time. Bookmakers and online casinos can now buy sponsored links on the search engine in Britain. Some of the problems cited are people getting addicted to gambling and the effect ths has on families. But is there anything wrong in gambling companies advertising on Google?

There are so many ways companies can advertise on the Internet. And I have seen so many affiliate programs for casino companies which anyone can find easy on the Internet. As more people look for opportunities to make money online, many more are joining affiliate marketing, which means even if gamblong companies do not use Google there are other advertisers willing to push their products to web surfers.

However it is also true many people do use Google and chances are these casinos and bookmakers will get more customers from search engine marketing.

Google said ads would be regulated and also carry links to gambling addiction sites. But isn’t it time people take responsibility for their actions and stop blamming someone else?
