A few days ago at Google I/O 2011 the Internet giant unveiled what it calls the new kind of computer, Chromebooks powered by its Chrome web browser. Google says Chromebooks are faster and more secure, well, we all want secure and faster computers. So how is the Chromebook going to be different from what we already have on the market?

ChromebookGoogle’s Chromebook promise:

  1. Chromebook is faster to boot, only takes 8 seconds.
  2. No need to carry charger, battery will lasts you whole day.
  3. No need to buy antivirus, Chromebooks have multi layers of security built in.
  4. WiFi and optional 3G

As computer users we want something that does the job, enhance our experience and yes, something cool to work on. We wait to see how Chromebooks will revolutionise our computing experiences. Checkout specifications for the Acer Chromebook here.

Chromebooks will be available to buy from June 15 from Amazon and other major retailers.
