Incapacity Benefits for Obesity and Drug Addicts – maybe the government should subsidise my gym membership. One of the top news stories today has been the 80 000 plus people in the UK who are said to be on Incapacity Benefits for Obesity and Drug Addictions. So, why should the taxpayer suffer because of someones’ addictions or high appetite for junk food?

Is it not out of choice to abuse drugs and binge on junk food then these people become addicts to their bad habits?

Is it very difficult to chose to live a healthy life?

A healthy lifestyle is the answer to these problems, so I guess the government should do more to encourage healthy living rather than giving these people incapacity benefits.
