If there is one email that I don’t want to miss, it’s the regular newsletter from Derek Gehl. He is the guy from the Internet Marketing Centre, and I find his marketing tips and advise very helpful in starting an Internet business or increase you sales in your current business ventures.

In the newsletter I received today, he talks about search marketing and the experiment by Search Marketing expert Nicole Ephgrave which showed an increase in website click-through by 30 percent.

The experiment comprised a group of website owners who are already highly successful. He pointed out something that I knew was important but, which I did not give enough attention it deserves.

The website ‘title tag’ and ‘meta description’. This is what people see when they search on the Internet.

How inviting is your tag and meta description?

“If they are boring, or they don’t tell whoever is searching that they have found what they are looking for, then there is no need for them to click through to your site”.

In the search marketing experiment by Nicole Ephgrave, participants in the test group made their title and meta description more enticing, and the result, an increase in website click-through by 30 percent.

Serious in Internet marketing? Well, that’s one area your website tags is need to pay attention to. As for more Internet Marketing Tips, Derek Gehl’s Insider Secrets to Marketing your Business on the Internet” is one resource that you don’t want to miss.
