How to get self-esteem that gives you self-confidance

Fear is one thing that stops us from ever getting started. How many things have you thought of, planned to do something but they just remain plans.

Many success coaches and motivational speakers say that self confidence is absolutely essential to what you achieve…. you need confidence to take action. Confidence gives you the ability to move forward and achieve positive outcomes.

So how do we get this unshakable self-confidence like the top performers?

Develop an unshakable self-confidence and your whole world will change for better.

- You’ll have confidence to take whatever steps necessary to earn more money and enjoy a higher standard of life.
- You’ll be more powerful and persuasive with other people.
- You’ll be more popular and likable.

People with low self-esteem….

- frequently dislike others
- they fear joining a big gathering or meeting.
- they are always afraid that the are going to make mistakes.
- expect that other people will dislike and reject them.
- have trouble performing under pressure and find it hard working in demanding environments.
- are vulnerable to comments and reactions from others.

Where as on the other hand people with high self-esteem……….
- usually see other people with a better light.
- expect other people to like and accept them.
- perform better in high pressure situations, and do better when the standards are high.
- feel confident and secure enough to shrug off negative comments from others.

So what can we do to increase this confidence?

- learn from your mistakes and forgive yourself for not taking action. This gives you confidence that you will do things differently and better next time.
- Remind yourself of past victories and also reward yourself for those goals you have achieved.
- avoid negative people and events that do not complement and encourage you in achieving your goals.
- never give up or accept failure. In fact there is no failure in life, take it as a learning process, for every wrong decision discarded you learn something.
- Look after yourself, health living and a healthy body gives you self confidence.

    I don’t think I have a low self-esteem I am just very shy and prefer not the go to large gatherings. “I’m not cocky I’m confident”

    I do however know folks that do have low self esteem and now that I have read this article I am able to identify it in them and maybe I can help them out. Great article.

    Hi Debo…….I think sometimes we tend to think more about our self image and how we think other people see us.

    This tends to give us low self image which may affect self confidence.
